  Tink had just told me that she heard on the news two nights ago that the Officer who shot the dog had killed two other dog's in previous incidents. The only thing the police went on was that phone call from the person who saw the money fly away from the back of the car. There were no reports from the gas station that a robbery occured! So I think they should have had a second unit go check out the gas station, while the other trigger happy officer secured the area to wait for more facts. Secure the area means CLOSE the car door, not shoot the poor dog in the head.

  The gas station did not report a robbery. The police should have dispached a unit to the station to perform a quick check to confirm the allegation from the caller. The officer could have CLOSED the door! Final note...What happened to innocent until proven guilty? I'd sue the crap out of them.

  Yeru. I heard about this on the news but hadn't reviewed any details until this information that you posted. I understand that Illinois has had problems with their court system especially with regard to capital crime cases. I think doing what he did, (an accross the board dicision) wasn't really a good move. If the system has to be corrected then they should be lobbying to get it fixed and then perhaps set up a re-examination of cases that appear to have been decided upon by inaccurate or faulty evidence. Those cases that were not in this category should have stayed in tact and those who were guilty beyond doubt should be given the punishment that the system deemed upon them. Aperson who commits murder in a deliberate and premeditated way should recieve the same eventuality that they imposed upon their victims. I just could only imagine what it's like to be a family member of a victim and have to deal with that type of dicision. Just my thoughts. Thanks for posting the article.

  Tink and I have two dog's, Shocker (10yr old mix bird dog and golden retriever), LittleBit (miniature Pomeranian), two birds, Rascal and Smokey (GreenCheck Conure and Cockateil). This is a Pic of LittleBit a week after we got him (7wks old) sleeping in Tinks lap.

  Hi Scooter...sorry I haven't given you an update lately...I haven't recieved my gift...So....I'll wait till next year...LOL...I'm cool with it. I know how hard it is around the Holidays, to find time...so if you talk to my Secret Santa..tell him not to worry about it...Thanks a bunch for such a fun thing to do...I really enjoyed it!!

  colts 23, jets 15 (the jets had their super bowl vs. the packers).

  packers 21, falcons 17 (i have a hunch that atlanta may pull the upset but you can't root against the pack at lambeau).

  I'm an AFC fan. Oakland was my favorite until I moved to Tn and we got the Titans. Oakland lost the SuperBowl desire along time ago. They have folded early in the past and are going to do it again. The Jets should be watched closely, they are dangerous. I am a Titan fan now, but am also realistic. They have a 50-50 shot at the SuperBowl. Oakland has to be knocked out for them to have a serious shot at it.

  On the NFC side, I think the Giants are going to suprise everybody. They'll be back at the SuperBowl again.

  This weeks predictions: Jets 28 Colts 17

  Giants 24 Niners 10

  Packers 27 Falcons 21

  Browns 24 Steelers 21

  Can't wait for the Games to begin!!!

  Elder Jailed for Child Abuse

  i was talking to an ex-elder whos father an elder for 30 years who also served as the congregations p/o and as the old congregations servant prior to the 1972 arrangement.. .

  he stated that he does not believe in god any longer as his father whilst serving as the cong p/o had been molesting his 2 sisters and his 2 daughters.

  this happened over a 25 year period.

  Horrible news Martin. Hope you can find some news clippings.

  Experimentation with sharp knives sounds good, but, locking him up and throwing away the key seems to be what will more likely happen, hopefully.

  Happy New Year Animal, and everyone on the Forum!!

  Tink and I are going to concentrate on our health first of all. We are going to plan out an exercise routine, change our diet (No more pie and ice cream for awhile.LOL), and both of us are going to quit smoking. The last one will be the hardest, but were going to do it!

  Personally, I would like to continue to improve on the way I deal with people. I very rarely get agitated with anyone. Ocassionally, though, I lose site of my goals and let ignorant people get the best of me. I'm going to do what I can to help locally with abused children and those who suffer from Alzheimers Disease. I have been contributing monetarily with this for some years now, but I am going to look into ways to volunteer some time. Tink's Uncle is suffering from Alzheimers and my Aunt passed away after suffering for 3 years with it.

  That's all for now.

  I enjoy this Forum and I enjoy all your friendship.

  Animal, have a safe and wonderful trip, give my greatings to Viv and Plm and others.
